36 Days of The Office

Sarah Ryan and I are both huge fans of The Office. I’ve also been learning 3D modeling with Cinema 4D in my spare time, while Sarah has been practicing her Photoshop skills. In the spirit of the 36 Days of Type project, we shipped one render every day for 36 consecutive days (May 13 - June 17, 2020).

The idea was to portray the TV show’s props, environments and concepts that correspond with each letter of the alphabet and the numbers 0-9. The project served as a great way to challenge our creative skills and pressure us to deliver a quality frame every day for five weeks. Some frames are more stylized, while others are more realistic. We didn’t force ourselves into any particular style. As I’m still exploring 3D design, I wanted to use these renders as a way to experiment with different cameras, environments and textures. I’m also fairly new to 3D modeling, so I didn’t know how far my skills could take our concepts.

I modeled everything, with the exception of the Dundie (thank you, C4D content library!). Sarah provided creative direction and created some of the customized textures in Photoshop. Our hope is to spark some fun memories for The Office enthusiasts out there.

We had a blast making these and hope you enjoy them!
